Get a free ticket to a concert this April by volunteering 10 or more hours with local nonprofits! Already volunteering? Thinking about it? Become one of thousands of young Iowans rocking with The 10,000 Hours Show (10K) this year. 10K wants to recognize your volunteer service with a major concert that's just for volunteers. Rock the community now, verify the hours you rocked, and then you can rock the concert this April. Cake, Ben Folds, Guster, JET, and Reel Big Fish have played the last five 10K concerts, and you won't want to miss the next concerton April 4, 2009. Band to be announced on Monday, Feb. 9. Here's how you get involved. 1) Get connected: Complete the Volunteer Solutions registration form (link below) and remember your username and password for future reference. 2) Rock the community: Search for volunteer opportunities in your Volunteer Solutions account and volunteer 10 or more hours at a local nonprofit(s). Organizations must be nonprothesitizing and nonpartisan. 3) Log your hours: Submit your volunteer hours in your Volunteer Solutions profile under the "Log hours" link on the homepage. 4) Get approved: After submitting your hours, ask the nonprofits you volunteered with to approve those hours. 5) Rock the concert: If you have 10 or more hours approved, as the concert nears you will be contacted on how to get your ticket.
