Greater Lewisville Cares

Mission: To engage volunteers to strengthen our community by providing service opportunities in partnership with area agencies. GLC strives to make volunteering easy for all ages.

Description:
Direct access for volunteers to the community is accomplished in two ways: (1) for those who find volunteering difficult due to scheduling restraints, GLC develops and publishes a calendar of service projects that take place after normal business hours offering tremendous flexibility for the volunteer; and (2) for groups who want to volunteer together, there is the TeamWorks program.

History:
GLC has been organizing projects with local agencies since May 2004. Our membership has risen to approximately 500 individual volunteers, 21 corporate or civic teams who served more than 10,000 volunteer hours to the Denton County community to date.
