Volunteer Opportunity Details:

Volunteers are asked to assist disabled riders while they learn horsemanship skills that are also designed to provide therapy to the rider.
The jobs are as a horse handler where the volunteer will focus on the horse before, during and after the riding lesson or as a side walker who's job is to assist the rider either physically or verbally. The riding instructor will direct the volunteer as to how much support is required for each rider.

Volunteers must be 14 to work with the riders directly and must be able to walk for approximately 45 minutes in soft arena footing.

Directions:

From I 35E exit at FM 2449, go west six miles where you will meet up with FM 156. Turn right, go 1/2 mile into the town of Ponder. On the right side of the road watch for the Riding Unlimited sign. The road name is T.N. Skiles but the physical sign is on the other side of the RR tracks so you will not be able to see if from FM 156. Once you cross the tracks, the first set of buildings you see on your left is Riding Unlimited. There are also signs on the front gate.
