Church Community Services is a faith-based agency helping people of Elkhart County weather life's storms and build more secure futures through emergency assistance and intensive job and life skills training.
Description:
Client Choice Food Pantry - Clients may visit our food pantry once every 30 days to select food for their families; the size of their household determines the amount. Anyone whose household income is at or below 165% of the poverty level qualifies for food assistance. Emergency Assistance - After consulting with one of our client counselors, families may be given vouchers to a local pharmacy for prescription medications, or assistance with rent and utilities once a year. This assistance is often done in collaboration with other community service agencies. Our counselors also provide informal counsel, support, and advocacy.
History:
CCS was established by Elkhart churches in 1968 to serve people in poverty. Today CCS is an outreach arm of over 50 churches whose support includes finances, food, volunteers, and prayer. We serve over 15,000 Elkhart County families annually.
