Description:
iFiT, formally known as Family Services of Elkhart County, Inc. /YSB, is an agency composed of three program divisions: Counseling, Youth and Self-Sufficiency. The divisions consist of eight (8) program services that work as a team to offer significant community resources. The Elkhart County Women's Shelter is the largest program that we offer. It is the only domestic violence shelter in Elkhart County. We allow women and children who are victims of domestic violence between a 30 to 45 day in Shelter. We provide food, clothing, shelter, assistance with housing needs, victims assistance for protection orders, counseling and support groups free of charge to families of domestic abuse. Our Family Empowerment program is the second largest program under the iFiT umbrella. This program supports and empowers parents to reach financial independence through job training and education. There is no fee to participate in this program. We also have Youth Programs such as Teen Court (for first time juvenile offenders) and the Goal Program (anger management program) to help troubled teens who may be facing life altering situations.
