MDC Goldenrod

MDC Goldenrod believes that because all persons are created in God's image, every human life has equal value. Acting on this, MDC Goldenrod, as a ministry of Anabaptist and other participating congregations, recognizes the gifts of individuals with disabilities. MDC Goldenrod seeks to do this in ways that promote development of individuals, strengthen the family, and encourage continued congregation involvement.

Description:
MDC Goldenrod has a number of different programs, some that are private pay and others that are government funded. Merimna Homes is the only private pay residential program that we know of in Indiana. In Merimna Homes we provide staff support, year round housing, food and transportation to adults with developmental disabilities. We also have several programs within the government funded fee-for-service system. In Repite Care we provide staff support to give families a break from their caregiving responsibilities to family members with disabilities who live at home. In Day Services we provide staff support and meaningful daytime activities in the community to developmentally disabled individuals. Finally, in Supported Living we provide housing and/or staff support to individual with disabilities who need care up to 24 hours/day.

History:
MDC Goldenrod began in 1975. The original vision was to provide support to people with a developmental disability and their families without using government money. Recently we added services that do receive state funds, allowing us to serve more people. Regardless of the program we always strive to create "a place of belonging".

Take State Road 15 through Goshen to College Ave. Turn East and go past the second stop light. You will see the MDC Goldenrod sign on the south side of the street.
