ASSISTANCE LEAGUE of El Paso
We are a nonprofit, nonsectarian, nonpolitical organization dedicated to serving the needs of El Paso County, Texas. We are an all volunteer organization with no paid personnel.
Description:
Our major philanthropic program, is OPERATION SCHOOL BELL which provides new clothing, shoes, hygiene items, book bags and school supplies to the most needy elementary age children of El Paso. Members are needed to put in many volunteer hours. Dues are nominal. We operate a Thrift Shop on the site called "Just a Second" It is open Mon-Sat 10:00 a.m to 3:00 p.m.
History:
We were organized as the Assistance Guild of El Paso in 1967 and chartered as the 50th chapter of NATIONAL ASSISTANCE LEAGUE on June 9, 1970. OPERATION SCHOOL BELL was adopted as the philanthropic program in 1968- we are in the 42th year of that service.
