Volunteer Opportunity Details:

The Coalition for Family Economic Progress provides free tax preparation for low-income working families. Our program is currently recruiting for volunteer tax preparers for the upcoming tax season. Our volunteers assist low-income working families by helping them claim all tax benefits that they're entitled to. Our volunteers work one-on-one with El Paso families to prepare their return and inform the taxpayers of tax credits and laws.

Each hour of your time can bring over $4700 to a hard-working El Paso family and to the local economy. Last tax season, 125 volunteers assisted 5,000 El Paso families receive over $9 million in refunds. As a volunteer you will be trained and certified for free by the Internal Revenue Service. The training can be included on your resume and the experience will help you gain confidence and experience for future employment.

Desire to learn. Commitment to the program (minimum of 3 hours week preferred). Basic math and computer skills. Bilingual Spanish/English preferred, but not required.
