The City of El Paso Department of Public Health has requested our support to provide water stations at several clinics conducting H1N1 immunizations around the city starting tomorrow from 7a.m.to 7p.m. The sites may continue to operate daily (except Sunday) as supply and demand dictate, at the following locations: Henderson, 721 S. Mesa: 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday Westside, 5195 Mace: 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday Northeast, 5587 Transmountain: 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday Ysleta, 110 Candelaria: 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday. We could use the help of several volunteers or staff who are available to work a shift of six hours either in the morning (7a-1p) or afternoon (1p-7p). We estimate that about 12 volunteers will be needed per shift, or 24 per day. Of course, all volunteers will receive advance immunizations and personal care instruction to minimize risk of exposure. We will simply be providing cups of water to keep folks hydrated. Here is a link to the announcement on KVIA.com. If you or your volunteers would like to help, please notify Freddy Martinez with your preferred location, days of the week, and times. You can email Freddy at martinezf@usa.redcross.org. Please notify him in advance and confirm that you are needed for a shift before reporting for duty.
