History:
Grove Christian Outreach Center was established in February, 2000 for the purpose of ministering to the Grove area of James City County. Many of the families and individuals in Grove are elderly, poor, or disabled, and are in need of the services we provide. Our goal is to treat each person with dignity and respect and show the love of Christ in assisting them with their need. We have watched God do some amazing things over the last seven years and are looking forward to what's to come. We pray that you will look into the many ways God is moving here at GCOC and ask Him how He would have you get involved.

ortunity to be part of an organization that nurtures lives in a holistic way.

GCOC serves the Grove Community in diverse ways.
It provides food, clothing, school supplies, special events (for example, the back-to-school event), and information about medical and other services and job opportunities available in the community at large. These services are carried out in the context of friendship and celebration of this opportunity to serve God by serving our brothers and sisters in the Grove Community. This volunteer experience is extremely satisfying to me because it is well organized, meets real needs, and allows me to interact with other volunteers and clients. I gain a sense of doing something truly worthwhile that involves me at a personal and spiritual level. Also, I enjoy it very much! The nature of the work and the friendships I have made with fellow volunteers and clients lead me to do everything I can to see that nothing conflicts with my volunteer schedule at GCOC. posted by dmeware on April 14, 2008 |

Grove Community people treated like family...
 |
I volunteer in the Pantry with others. It's been a blessing watching how God supplies the resources needed for this ministry to offer food, clothing and assistance to the Grove community. The staff and other volunteers are loving and compassionate people. And treat the community people as family. posted by GraceWorks on April 13, 2008 |

The Outreach Center is a place where you feel love as soon as you walk in the door.

I've gotten to help, along with my family, at seasonal events. You can truly feel God's love reaching others when you are there. The work being done in Grove is remarkable. It is a wonderful place to volunteer if you are looking for a place to involve your own family/children in helping others. posted by kclar on April 12, 2008 |
