The Special Collections Research Center at Swem Library is looking for volunteers to staff its reception desk. The volunteer greets and registers researchers, welcomes visitors to the exhibit galleries, answers the phone, and may perform, depending on inclination, other duties such as data entry or proofreading. Researchers include students, faculty, genealogists, local historians, and others, while exhibit visitors typically include local residents, students and their families, alumni, and others. Reception desk volunteers should be friendly and enjoy meeting new people. We request a minimum commitment of three hours per week. Training will be provided. A parking pass also will be provided. All volunteers, like staff, may be subject to background checks. This opportunity is sponsored by: Swem Library
