Community Wide Food Drive- Needs You!
RSS XML FeedBackground Active Mar 23, 2009 to May 8, 2009

The United States Postal Service, AFL-CIO and United Way of Howard County are working together to help fill our local food pantries for people in need in our community.  On May 9, letter carriers will be picking up nonperishable food items like canned meats, soup, vegetables, juices, pasta, cereal and rice.  We need the help of volunteers to make this project a success.  Volunteers are needed to help the letter carriers by sorting the food that has been collected or assisting in collecting the food along various routes.

There are a number of shifts available, to help as a route walker or driver.  8:30 am to 2:00 pm,  11:00 am to 4:00 pm and 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm.  Any amount of time that you can help will be appreciated.

This is a great family friendly event, even little ones can run around an pick up cans of food along the way!

You cannot lend a hand, you can still help out by leaving nonperishable food items by your mailbox that morning.
