POSITION OVERVIEW

Aid adults with developmental disabilities who attend TESH’s Activity Center. Record data as needed. Ensure the safety of clients while on outings or in the center.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
Consumer Interaction - You may be asked to help clients go out in the community or to help them with the planned activities for the day. Activities include but are not limited to- outdoor recreation, physical activity, arts n crafts, and community activities.
Attendance – Except for planned and approved absences, consistent and regular attendance at trainings is required.

ESSENTIAL EXPECTATION OF ALL TESH VOLUNTEERS:
Agency Expectations - Interactions with TESH staff and the Adult Services Program Manager must be conducted in a professional manner. Conflicts with others, at any level, should be resolved appropriately and as defined in the TESH handbook. All volunteers are expected to make a positive and effective contribution to TESH by way of their behavior.
Ethical Conduct – Behavior at all times must include honesty, sincerity (non-deception), candor, integrity and reliability (promise-keeping).
Drug and Alcohol Free Workplace – Must comply with Drug and Alcohol free workplace standards (further defined in staff handbook).

QUALIFICATIONS: Must have an interest in working with people with developmental disabilities. Must be able to pass a criminal history background check. Must take CPR/First Aid within 90 days of becoming a volunteer. Must maintain that certification as needed. Must receive up to 12 hours of training yearly including, fire safety, confidentiality, code of ethics, and abuse and neglect policies, as well as formal training as outlined in TESH’s volunteer policy.
