Volunteer Opportunity Details:
Become a trained Court Appointed Special Advocate for abused and neglected children removed from their homes. Upon completion of a 30 hour training, the judge will swear you in as a Gaurdian ad Litem. You will then investigate allegations of abuse and neglect and file reports with the court as well as testify in court as to the best interest of the child. You will follow the case until the child is placed in a permanent home. In 2008, 675 children in the five northern counties of Idaho were served by a CASA volunteer. There is a 30 hour training and you must be 21 years of age. This opportunity is sponsored by: First Judicial District CASA Program, Inc.
