Lewis & Clark Literacy Council
The Lewis & Clark Literacy Council helps Adults acquire reading, writing, basic math, English language and work-based literacy skills, so that they may reach their fullest potential within their families, work and within their community.Our agency helps people reach these goals by providing them with qualified trained volunteer tutors. All of our tutors complete a 15 hour Tutor Training Workshop before being matched with a student.
Description:
The Lewis & Clark Literacy Council assists adults with varying literacy needs including health, workplace, financial, and English language instruction. Tutoring is free and takes place one-to one with a volunteer tutor or within small groups. We help people prepare for citizenship and taking the driver's exam.
History:
Established in 1988, our council has provided nearly twenty years of dedicated service to hundreds of area adults. The L&CLC has 501(c)(3) status and is an accredited affiliate of ProLiteracy America. The Council uses the Wise Giving Guide as a model and will take great car in spending your donation wisely.
