Florence Crittenton's Center for Pregnant and Parenting Teens is a nationally recognized non-profit specializing in therapeutic residential services for pregnant and parenting young women, ages 12-21. Many of the girls we serve have experienced multiple personal challenges including abuse and neglect, involvement in "the system," substance abuse, depression, truancy, and runaway tendencies. Our treatment model is a relationship based cognitive/behavioral approach with a particular emphasis on attachment and bonding issues, enabling healing to occur and creating healthy relationships. We believe the birth of a baby offers a unique opportunity for change and growth in the life of a teen mother and her extended family. By working with adolescents and their 0-3 year-old children, we are effectively treating two generations at the same time.

History:
In 1896, Charles Crittenton lost his four-year-old daughter, Florence, to scarlet fever. He created "Florence Crittenton" facilities all over the United States, to honor her memory. Each Florence Crittenton agency is an independent non-profit organization, that in some way helps disenfranchised young women. The Helena, Montana Florence Crittenton opened it's doors in 1900, has has served pregnant and parenting teens since that time. We are one of the only organizations in the United States that provides intensive therapeutic, residential treatment services to adolescent moms.
