ExplorationWorks invites people of all ages and backgrounds to an active experience in science and culture that inspires inquiry, increases understanding, and stimulates the desire for lifelong learning.

Description:
ExplorationWorks is an interactive museum of science and culture. ExplorationWorks was designed to provide experiences unavailable in traditional educational venues. ExplorationWorks employs an inquiry approach with students of all ages through interactive exhibits and active programming. Exhibits rotate several times throughout each year, providing diverse learning venues and experiences for families and students.

ExplorationWorks utilized volunteers in all aspects of operations, such as Field Trip leaders, Teachers and Teaching Assistants, Exhibit helpers, Project and Program Committees, Early Childhood Activity Facilitators, Special Event helpers, etc.

History:
CommunityWorks was founded as a 501c3 non-profit in 2001 and began as a Museum without Walls. CommunityWorks developed the concept of the ExplorationWorks museum. After opening November 1, 2007, ExplorationWorks welcomed 40,000 visitors through its doors in our first year. More than 1,500 families became members of ExplorationWorks in the first year, visiting the museum numerous times for various purposes and activities, and over 4,000 students from Helena Public Schools and as far away as Fernie, British Columbia, attended field trips.

ExplorationWorks is located next to the Painted Pony Carousel in the Great Northern Town Center, across Highway 12 from Carroll College.
