9th Annual Beautiful Minds Dignity Dinner, May 27, 2010 at the Great Northern Hotel, Helena

Volunteer Opportunity Details:

Last updated on August 3, 2009

Each January a group of committed volunteers gather to plan an annual fundraiser for the Center for Mental Health that raises funds to build a new crisis stabilization facility called the Care House. Volunteers who have helped with the event welcome new volunteers and are open and flexible to new ideas, new energy and new volunteers! Tasks are divided by committees:Live and Silent Auction, Program, Publicity, Day of Event, which includes Auction Bank, Decoration/Set Up, Live Auction, Raffle sales and Registration Table.

One requirement is that volunteers on the Live and Silent Auction committee must be willing to ask anyone for a donation. There is no training involved for donation solicitation but past volunteers are willing to advise. There is training for auction bank tellers. There are no limitations on who may volunteer but auction solicitations are done during the work week when businesses are open. You must provide your own transportation to pick up donations. Sometimes Silent Auction packages or baskets can be large and heavy. Set up is scheduled for the morning of the event. Volunteers need to be at the event by 5:30 p.m. and it may not end until 10:30 p.m. Volunteers are not required to clean up afterwards.
