The Mission of Family Planning Health Services, Inc.
To promote the health and knowledge of women and families throughout their lives. . .
To improve the lives of generations to come . . .
because knowledge about sexuality is better than ignorance . . .
and because prevention and health promotion are the best means to a healthier future.
Family Planning Health Services, Inc. provides high quality, affordable and accessible reproductive and nutritional services to women and their families. We serve women and their partners in need by providing low-cost contraceptive care. We provide young people with confidential reproductive health care as well as sexuality education for prevention and treatment. We help pregnant women in need of prenatal care and nutritional education, and their young children who need nutritional food supplements. We promote ideals that knowledge of sexuality is preferable to ignorance and that prevention and health promotion are the means of achieving our purposes for people of all ages and incomes. Our mission embraces an ongoing commitment to gender equity, community health promotion and community progress.

Description:
FPHS is a seven county reproductive health care provider. FPHS is funded by Title V Maternal and Child Health state and federal grants to provide reproductive health care to all in our service area. Both men and women can be seen at FPHS clinics. The agency can enroll eligible women in the Wisconsin Family Planning Waiver program to receive free contraceptive care or in Healthy Start to receive free prenatal care. Counties served by the reproductive health clinics are: Adams, Juneau, Langlade, Lincoln, Marathon, Portage and Taylor. FPHS has a Women' Infants and Children's (WIC) program in Marathon, Langlade and Lincoln counties. This program provides nutrition education and food supplements to pregnant women, breastfeeding and post-partum women and their children under age 5. FPHS reproductive health care clinics provide a wide range of reproductive care including contraceptive education, exams and supplies, screening and treatment for sexually transmitted infections, confidential HIV/AIDS testing, pregnancy testing and routine reproductive exams. We do not provide medical prenatal care or abortion. We refer people for prenatal care to local medical providers and can answer questions on abortion. Prescription, non-prescription and Natural Family Planning methods of contraception are available. The agency is able to provide the new Gardasil vaccine to prevent cervical cancer at all seven reproductive health clinics. FPHS provides confidential services and can see anyone and everyone regardless of age, marital status or income. FPHS is able to bill Medical Assistance, BadgerCare, the Family Planning Waiver and private insurance. For those who do not qualify for coverage or have insurance, services are on a sliding fee scale.
