Randlin Homes

Randlin Adult Family Care Homes Inc. is a faith based non profit organization with the mission to provide a safe healthy family type environment for homeless, mentally ill, chemically dependent and otherwise disabled adults (primarily veterans) Our vision is to rehabilitate and train as many homeless veterans and ex-offenders as possible so they can become self sufficient again.

Description:
Our mission is to provide a structured environment where residents can learn new coping skills while developing a sense of family that for many have lost through their chemical use or inappropriate behaviors. We have developed an education and training program that includes providing needed services to our community like snow removal, yard care, general maintenance and personal care for a minimal suggested donation. Our HOPE Thrift Store and Training Center at 1006 N. 6th Street in Wausau will provide a broad range of training opportunities in various income generating enterprise programs including the HOPE Thrift Store, Hot Diggity Dog Concessions, Home Care & Repair and more. The hands on, resident operated Enterprises will offer training in customer service & sales, bookkeeping, accounting, promotions, public relations, construction, landscaping, small engine repair, woodworking, furniture refinishing & upholstry and more.

We also believe in the need for well planned and supported transitioning and long term follow up to maintain their new lifestyle. With over a 95% success rate in helping residents remain clean, sober, out of jail, hospitals and detox centers, we are working with the the justice system to find alternatives to incarceration.

The target date to begin our first class of students in our one year education and training program is May 1, 2009. The 20 bed facility on the corner of 6th Street and McClellan in Wausau will serve as our dormitory. Community volunteers and supporters are greatly needed to help us get off on the right foot.
