Runaway And Youth Services
The mission of RAYS is to enrich the future of youth and families through quality programming and partnerships.
Description:
-Youth aged 12-17 are at higher risk for homelessness than adults -Between 1.3 and 2.8 million runaway and homeless youth live on the streets of America each year. -80% of runaway and homeless girls reported having ever been sexually or physically abused -75% percent of runaway and homeless youth have dropped out or will drop out of school. -32% have attempted suicide at some point in their lives. RAYS is a program that works to keep youth in Lincoln, Langlade, Taylor, and Marathon Counties safe and off the streets. We do this by improving a network of support to youth and their families though confidential and voluntary crisis intervention services. LSS Runaway and Youth Services offers these free services: · Family mediation · One-on-one sessions · Community resources and referrals · 24-hour hot-line number: 1-877-920-7238 · Emergency Shelter · Youth/Street Outreach Services · Educational Programs
