Justice Volunteer Program - Mentors and Volunteers Public Transportation Senior Connection

Volunteers are needed to mentor first time, low-risk offenders through the Justice Volunteer Program at ATTIC Correctional Services. Volunteers will meet with clients 3-5 hours a month and provide encouragement and support to these individuals, as well as serve as a role-model. The volunteer will help to identify and address problems and concerns facing the client.

Volunteer Eligibility Criteria:

Volunteers must be:

  1. 21 years of age
  2. Marathon County Resident for a minimum of 6 months, and/or familiar with the Criminal Justice System
  3. If ever convicted of an offense, the volunteer must be free from supervision of the Department of Corrections for the past 3 years if successful, or 6 years if unsuccessful.
  4. Available 3-5 hours a month for volunteer services.
  5. Volunteer must present a stable lifestyle for the previous two years.
  6. Volunteer must be willing to sign and endorse the volunteer confidentiality and offender relationship policies.
  7. If recovering, volunteer must be in recovery for a minimum of two years.

A volunteer application is required. References will be contacted and a background check conducted.
