Volunteer Opportunity Details:

Assist Red Cross in delivering its mission by providing nursing skill in assigned areas.

Key Responsibilities:

• Willingness to support the Red Cross mission
• Provide blood pressure and blood glucose screening at Health Screening Clinics and Health Fairs throughout Marathon County
• Provide patient education in the areas of hypertension and diabetes
• Refer clients to area health care providers
• Currently licensed in Wisconsin as a RN with the combination of experience and training required to perform job duties.
• Professional, well-developed interpersonal skills essential for communicating information to the general public.
• Work requires sitting and walking for the majority of the shift. Occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs along with required occasional bending, squatting, and reaching above or below shoulder level to move equipment.
• Patient assessment skills related to blood pressure screening and monitoring and blood glucose screening and monitoring.
• Valid Wisconsin driver's license and personal vehicle available for travel to health screening locations
• Desire to learn new information and develop skills in relation to health screening activities
• Health promotion and education experience desired
• Current CPR certification
