WORKPLACE VOLUNTEER COUNCIL SEEKS VOLUNTEERS FOR

NINTH ANNUAL FILL A BACKPACK, FILL A NEED

The Workplace Volunteer Council of Marathon County is gearing up for it’s ninth annual Fill A Backpack, Fill A Need program and is seeking volunteers for the annual back to school event.

Volunteers are needed:

Wednesday, August 22nd - Friday, August 24th from Noon - 6pm

Saturday, August 25th from 8:00am - 2:00pm

The Fill A Backpack, Fill A Need project assists low-income families with children in kindergarten through eighth grade.  Each child eligible for the free lunch program at his or her school in Marathon County is eligible and will receive an invitation to participate in the Fill A Backpack, Fill A Need event on Saturday, August 25, 2007.  On this date, each child can obtain a new backpack (if they do not already have one) and the necessary school supplies to start his or her school year out on the right path.
