Volunteers needed for Dairy Breakfast 2008. The annual June Dairy Breakfast, hosted by The Wausau Region Chamber of Commerce and Northcentral Technical College's Partnership for Progressive Agriculture and Blue Ridge Dairy LLC, need your help. Volunteers are needed in the areas of set up, parking control, ticket collection, helping with a variety of adult and children's activities, clean up and more. All volunteers receive a complimentary breakfast. Volunteers should be ages 8 and up with parental consent. Safe Kids. Become a Safe Kids volunteer through Aspirus Wausau Hospital. You can help at various activities such as fitting bike helmets, teaching water safety, or becoming a child passenger safety technician. Contact Michelle Armstrong at (715) 847-2864 or michelbl@aspirus.org.
Lawn care volunteer. Marathon County Historical Society needs volunteers to assist with lawn care at their two residences. This includes basic mowing and edging. Volunteers must have their own equipment. Contact Mary at (715) 842-5750.
Help thy neighbor. The Salvation Army operates an emergency grocery assistance program where individuals who qualify will receive non-perishable food, toiletries, and other necessities. In order to help, volunteers are needed to assist with sorting and boxing of donations. Volunteers can sign up for a shift Monday – Friday from 10AM- 2PM. Each day through the assistance of volunteers and staff, the Salvation Army serves at midday meal to about 70 less fortunate neighbors. Volunteers are needed to assist in the preparation, serving, and cleanup of the meal from 9AM - 2PM. Prep is from 9AM-11:30AM; Serving is at 11:30; Clean-up is finished by 2:00PM.
