United Way of Mower County is dedicated to enhancing the ability of the community to care for one another by volunteers who assess needs, raise funds, allocate resources and encourage cooperate efforts to build a better community.
United Way of Mower County is not just a fundraiser. We work in close partnership with private businesses, government and nonprofit agencies to pinpoint and address community issues.
The United Way does not fund agencies, but proven programs that directly impact individuals and families in the community.
History:
In 1958 the United Way of Mower County began by raising $69,000 to support eight agencies. The purpose was to conduct an annual community fund drive with proceeds to benefit local member agencies that serve the human needs of the community. Our purpose today is to raise money through an annual fund drive and fund local programs and initatives that postiviely impact the community. In addition, we work in close partnership ti facilitate collaboration around important community issues.
