Community Outerwear Drive

The Community Outerwear Drive is a collaborative effort between United Way and local organizations and businesses to provide children and adults with gently used outerwear.  Coats, hats, mittens, scarves and boots are collected and distributed to adults and children who register.

Volunteers are need to 1)sort through donations of outerwear and prepare for distribution (hanging of clothes by size, etc.).  Volunteers are needed October 23rd and October 24th.  Volunteers will need to stand and bend.  No heavy lifting is required. 2)Help with distribution of outwear to families October 29th and 30th.  Volunteers will need to stand and bend.  No heavy lifting is required.

Sorting and distribution will take place at Oak Park Mall in the former Avon Shoppe.

This volunteer opportunity would be good for all ages.  Interested individuals/families/church groups, etc. should contact United Way at 437-2313 or by emailing unitedml@smig.net.

Adults and children in need of winter clothing please call United Way at 437-2313 to sign up.
