Day of Caring is a volunteer opportunity for all members of the community.  Homeowners, agencies, and the City of Austin submit projects to be completed on September 26, 2009.  Projects typically take 4 hours to complete. After a kick off breakfast volunteers are sent out to their projects with a box lunch. Typically projects are for senior homeowners that need help with yard work, window washing, painting, etc. Family members, children, youth groups, all are invited to help. Day of Caring is a great way to get involved and help your neighbors. Proejcts are also completed outside of Austin in greater Mower County so if you would like to volunteer outside of Austin please contact United Way.
