VITA Short for Volunteer Income Tax Assistance, is a joint venture of the United Way of Northwest Arkansas and the Office of Human Concern. We are looking for vounteers who want to make a real difference in the lives of Northwest Arkansas families simply by helping prepare their 2009 tax returns.
You can be personally involved in promoting financial stability to low-income individuals and families by helping provide free tax preparation. VITA ensures that eligible families receive their often unclaimed Earned Income Tax Credit.
- Please consider serving as a volunteer!!
- Short-term, effective volunteer effort.
- Different volunteer roles available, including, greeter, tax preparer, intake coordinator, and translators
- Free tax training by the IRS for volunteer tax preparers
- No experience needed
- No liability to tax preparers (sites are IRS approved)
- One Volunteer hour can boost a family's income an average of $1,900
