Habitat for Humanity North Central Iowa believes that everyone deserves a decent place to live. Habitat does this by working in partnership with families to build simple, decent, affordable housing for those that might not otherwise become homeowners. Habitat for Humanity North Central Iowa is a not for profit, ecumenical, Christian housing ministry.
History:
In 1991 volunteers from the First Congregational United Church in Mason City participated in a Habitat project. Two years later in 1993 our local affiliate was formed and we became officially recognized as the Cerro Gordo Habitat for Humanity. We completed our first Habitat home in 1995. Our area covered expanded from Cerro Gordo county to 5 counties total and as a result we changed our name to Habitat for Humanity North Central Iowa in 1999. Today, we have plans to build 5-6 houses in 2008!
