The C.A.R.E. Team is a group of volunteers dedicated to promoting better child care in the county.
Description:
The C.A.R.E. Team is made up of 6 programs which include Loving Hands Nursery (respite care for children 2weeks to 5 years), Parents Actively Caring (hospital visitation program for new mothers), Youth Recreation (help youth to get involved in recreational activities), Guardian Angel (helps clients with financial needs and misc. items), Tacos for Tots (fundraiser to help with Christmas for middle class families), Grandparents raising Grandchildren(support group for Grandparents raising their grandchildren or great-grandchildren)
History:
The C.A.R.E. Team was incoporated in 1979 as a non-profit organization. In 1983 Loving Hands Nursery was started and in 1984 Parents Actively Caring began. In 1985 the Toy Lending Library started and was closed in 2002. Youth Recreation started in 1985 and in 1996 we held our first Girl Talk Program. In 1996 a director was hired part-time. Our Guardian Angel Program was started in the early 90's and the newest program which started in 2006 was Grandparents raising Grandchildren.
