Our mission is to provide services designed to create a safe, supportive, and structured environment through which young people and their families may achieve knowledge, skills, personal growth, and individual success.
Description:
FLYS provides an emergency youth shelter for children, day programs for both boys and girls, and a supervised apartment living facility. Our Outpatient department provides individual, family and group counseling through a variety of methods that include talk therapy, play therapy, equine assisted psychotherapy and adventure based counseling. The community services programs include In-home counseling, transitional living, Life Skills, Strengthening Families, IA Aftercare, and Family Connections counseling for teen mothers.
History:
FLYS was founded in late 1968 by Francis Lauer, Chief probation officer for Cerro Gordo County.
