Volunteer Opportunity Details:

This volunteer opportunity allows individuals to provide emergency relief to victims of disasters on a local level. When a disaster occurs in your community, you can be one of the first responders to help the individual or family begin to cope with their loss. As part of the Disaster Action Team, a volunteer will receive free training in the processes and procedures needed to deal with commonly occurring emergencies in the local community. Emergencies are unpredictable, so the need for active DATeam Members is ongoing. We will work with your schedule when you are available to take fire calls. This opportunity is very fluid in its time commitments and we can work with each individual to arrange a schedule that works best with them.

All volunteers must complete a free background check administered by the American Red Cross before being placed in a volunteer position. Free training in the processes, procedures, and responsibilities is required before an individual may respond to an emergency. Training times are flexible and are arranged with the staff of the American Red Cross.

Take a left (North) at 1st St NE and the office is on the corner to your left. From West (Hwy 122): Drive East on Hwy 122 to Hwy 65. Turn left and head north to State Street. Turn Right and head east. Take a left (North) at 1st St NE and the office is on the corner to your left. From North (Hwy 65): Head south on Hwy 65 to West State Street.
