Volunteer Opportunity Details:
| Last updated on July 6, 2009 |
The Bridges Mentoring Program has children waiting for mentors in all the school districts we serve: Osage, Riceville and St. Ansgar. Do you have the time to be a friend to a child that needs a positive adult in his or her life? All it takes is a minimum of one hour per week to make a difference! Please consider helping a child "be all that he/she can be" by becoming a mentor today! The only experience you need is knowing how to be a friend. MENTOR ONE CHILD, CHANGE TWO LIVES! All volunteers must complete a two-part training process; provide satisfactory references, as well as criminal history, child abuse and sex offender background checks; and they must agree to a home interview. Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age. Once matched, volunteer mentors agree to meet with their mentees for a minimum of one hour per week, for at least one year. It is the hope of the staff at Bridges that the mentor would stay with the same child until the child graduates from high school. This opportunity is sponsored by: Bridges Mentoring Program
