History:
The Arc of Woodbury County was founded in the early 1950’s and was known for many years as The Association of Retarded Citizens / Iowa. The Arc is the advocate voice for children and adults with mental retardation, and related development disabilities. The Arc is volunteer driven in policy and direction that is comprised of family members of persons with disabilities, volunteers from the social services community, self – advocates and interested community leaders.
