Through its many programs, the Community Action Agency of Siouxland helps more than 16,000 people each year, primarily from Woodbury County. Community Action Agencies (CAAs) were first formed in the 1960s as part of President Lyndon Johnson’s war on poverty. Today there are approximately 1,000 CAAs in the United States.
