Our goal is to work together as a community to ensure that our children are ready to succeed when they enter school.

Description:
This initiative works to effectively prepare children for success in learning and in life; ensure that all families are aware of and have access to early childhood services and opportunities; and to become a leader in supporting young children and their families by advocating for early childhood funding and programs.

History:
United Way of Southwest Minnesota became actively involved in building school readiness skills in young children during Summer 2005 when it became the local sponsor of the Dolly Parton Imagination Library program. This led to a organized effort between staff and volunteers to address multiple issues concerning school readiness.
