Hospice of Murray County is a unique part of the health care community, a free standing, community based, non-profit organization devoted in providing hospice services to patients and their families with comfort, compassion and dignity during the end stages of life.
Description:
Hospice is for those people who choose comfort care, rather than aggressive treatment that is focused on cure. Hospice can be part of the treatment plan for you illness. Our agency provides care at home, or at Our House, a residential Hospice facility in Slayton. Volunteers can provides companionship, assistance to patients or other non direct patient activities such as fundraisers or office help. We use volunteers to deliver equipment to patients, assist with duties at Our House such as preparing meals, taking care of plants, visiting residents, House hold chores. Fundraiser that volunteers provide assistance with is the week long Rummage Sale, Hospice Benefit Auction.
History:
Hospice of Murray County has been providing services since 1987. Our House was established in 1996. Volunteer program is big part of the Hospice services. .
