Become a Disaster Services Volunteer and help your community prepare for and respond in time of disaster. Volunteer to help in your local community, help in Southeast Missouri, help in the state or as disasters happen throughout the nation. Family Service Casework - Volunteer to help individuals affected by home fires or natural disasters Community Services - help with sheltering, mass feeding or distributing supplies to neighborhoods Damage Assessment - work in teams to assess homes for damage immediately after a disaster Staffing - register volunteers on site of a disaster Logistics - coordinate resources through businesses and organizations to obtain shelters, supplies and materials Liaison - serve as intermediary with local emergency management, government officials or other volunteer organizations Public Relations - help prepare and distribute news releases; work with media during disaster Financial and Statistics - work with casework files, computers and financial information. Preparing and reporting disaster response information Information Technology - assist in setting up computer networking, computer systems, databases.
