To provide for the needs of hungry people in 20 counties in South Carolina by gathering and sharing quality food with dignity, compassion, and education.
Description:
Harvest Hope Food Bank is a regional distribution center that serves 20 counties and works with over 400 member agencies in South Carolina to feed hungry people. We also have an Emergency Food Pantry that is located on the premises and serves individuals with food to take home and feed their families.
History:
Harvest Hope Food Bank started in 1981, operating as an Emergency Food Box program. Since then we have grown into a regional food distribution center providing food, support, and hope to 20 counties in the Midlands and Pee Dee regions in South Carolina. Harvest Hope is a proud member of Feeding America: The Nation's Food Bank Network, the largest charitable hunger relief organization in the United States. Harvest Hope is responsible for receiving national food donations for four Food Banks throughout SC, NC, and GA. Locally, Harvest Hope is a member of the United Way of the Midlands and Florence.
