Our primary goal is to maintain, support, and strengthen a family unit created through adoption.
Description:
We provide support services to families who have adopted children from the state foster care system. These are children who have experienced abuse and/or neglect at the hands of those charged with their protection. We understand the need for the adoptive families and their children to have continued support due to the children's past experiences. We understand that abuse and/or neglect can greatly impact a child's life and the families caring for them. Many of our support programs require the assistance of volunteers. Our volunteers have a desire to make a difference in the lives of our children. Most of our volunteers return year after year.
History:
Children Unlimited was established in 1977 in an effort to help find adoptive families for children living within the foster care system. The agency has placed hundreds of children into permanent loving homes and continues this effort through the Wendy's Wonderful Kids program. Since that time the Post Adoption Support Program has been added and has provided much needed support services to families for over 17 years.
