To provide the best in comprehensive hospice care to terminally ill patients and their families in our service area. We are committed to patient dignity; quality patient care, common courtesy, quality improvement, responsiveness and education that far exceeds the expectations of our patients, families and the medical community.

Description:
Hospice represents a supportive philosophy of care to those when life expectancy is measured in weeks or months. With hospice, the emphasis is changed from the disease to the patient. The major goals of hospice care are to provide the patient with the following:

  • Relief from pain and other distressing symptoms
  • Psychological care
  • A support system to help the patient live as
actively as possible in the face of impending
death
  • Psychological and spiritual care for the
family during the period of illness and
bereavement

People with terminal diseases often need more care and emotional support than those whose sickness is curable. Hospice care is made up of an interdisciplinary team composed of professionals and volunteers who provide individual care for the patient and family, usually in the home or a skilled nursing facility.

The team consists of a Physician, the nursing staff, Social Services, Bereavement Services, Chaplain, Home Health Aides and Volunteers.
