Our Mission is to empower women and men to grow and prosper through entrepreneurship. The South Carolina Women's Business Center (SCWBC) is dedicated to helping entrepreneurs become more successful in all aspects of their business, from start-up through growth and final exit strategies.
Description:
Our program is offered virtually and physically, with two full time staffed center offices, one part-time staffed office through our fiduciary partner, the South Carolina Manufacturing Extension Partnership, and partnerships. We collaborate with faith-based organizations, other non-profits, community development corporations, chambers of commerce, women's centers, educational institutions - actually any organization that wants to promote women in business. Our center offers comprehensive seminars, community workshops, and business development strategies to entrepreneurs in South Carolina. Our client's achievements are readily published in local media, and significant achievements are recognized by the U.S. Small Business Administration, locally and nationally. Our motto is: Helping Entrepreneurs Succeed!
History:
Since 2002, the South Carolina Women's Business Center has provided services to women entrepreneurs throughout the state. All entrepreneurs, aspiring or existing business owners, male, female, ethnic minority or veteran, have been served. For the past two years we have ranked in the top 10 of all Women's Business Centers in terms of the number of clients we've served, according to SBA Survey preparation data. In our first four years we have logged over 14,000 hours of business development counseling, identified over 900 new jobs created, 476 new business start ups, and over 8,000 participants in our training programs.
