Due to the recent flooding, there are still a huge number of people in the Watertown area of East Moline that either haven't qualified for FEMA assistance or were not aware of the application process/deadlines associated with it. These include a large number of older adults and people with disabilities. We need volunteers to help these people with cleaning out basements that were affected by the flood waters. There is also a huge demand for cleaning products such as bleach, detergent, soap, brooms, mops, buckets, scouring pads. These people are also in need of dry food goods, clothing, and toiletries. Please contact us if you think you or your organization can help out in any way. The reality that these people are living in is a lot worse than you think, please help out if you can. Willing to lift more than 10 lbs and able to do physical labor. For those donating materials, we only ask that they be items in good condition. This opportunity is sponsored by: Illinois/Iowa Center for Independent Living
We need volunteers who are free at these times
