Logo

The Farmworker Council is a private, non-profit organization dedicated to providing comprehensive social and human services to farmworkers in Palm Beach County. Our mission is to promote self sufficiency and improve the quality of life of migrant and seasonal farmworkers through education, advocacy and access to services.

Description:
Bilingual staff link clients to needed services by providing transportation to medical and social services appointments, interpretation and translations in English/Spanish/Creole and by providing referrals and advocacy to appropriate agencies.

In collaboration with community experts, we provide information and materials about topics of interest to farmworkers and their families.

We also provide case management that gives clients the opportunity to contribute to solving their own economic and social needs.

Each year the agency hosts special back-to-school, Thanksgiving, and Christmas events.

History:
The Farmworker Coordinating Council began in the winter of 1977-78 with a group of volunteers who responded to the emergency needs of farmworkers affected when a sudden freeze destroyed much of the area's fruits and vegetables. Since then the unique and acute needs of Palm Beach County's farmworkers have been served by the efforts of this agency.
