The Retired & Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) is an active group of volunteers 55 years of age or older putting their experience, skills, talents, & wisdom towards finding solutions to our community's concerns.

Description:
We have five major goals:

  1. Keeping frail elders in their homes safely for as long as possible through neighbor helping neighbor associations(People over 80 are 60% of the senior population).
  2. Improving the safety of our neighborhoods by supporting Crime Watch projects and Citizens on Patrol (COPS).
  3. Improving Palm Beach County's educational system by generating volunteers to mentor and/or tutor our children(There are 19,000 employees in the school system. There are 23,000 volunteers and more are needed).
  4. Extend health care services through the volunteer efforts of our members.
  5. Support food distribution services in Palm Beach County to stamp out hunger (the average age of the homeless in this county is 11 years of age).

  6. History:
RSVP is proud of its heritage as a program that constantly evolves to meet the ever-changing needs of America's communities as well as the older citizens serving them. Since its inception more than 30 years ago, RSVP has grown from 11 projects to over 750 nationally, including Puerto Rico, Guam and the Virgin Islands.

With the energy and experience of our current volunteers and the newest wave of older Americans from the baby boomer generation joining us, we see the ability to expand our reach farther than ever before. Seniors no longer will feel powerless to make real changes in their communities once they join RSVP and see the difference senior volunteers can make.
