Holiday Volunteers Needed For November & December D-Days

Volunteer Opportunity Details:

Last updated on October 22, 2009

"Holiday" volunteers are needed to help sort food and package order for participants of our food cooperative. Volunteers hours are 7 a.m. - 10 a.m. on the following dates: Saturday, November 21, 2009, and Saturday, December 19, 2009. All activities take place in the Parish Hall. Join us as we fill orders and "share" in friendship, community and fellowship.

You do not have to be a member of the church to volunteer. Youth are invited to volunteer and earn community service hours for school, church, etc. If younger than seventh grade, we do require a parent/guardian volunteer with the child.

We also ask all interested volunteers to contact us before the volunteer date.

Volunteers will fill grocery bags with food orders. There is some light lifting and carrying involved with that. We also have food boxes that need carried (up to 50 lbs) that we let our "stronger" volunteers carry. Volunteers may also be asked to help to carry food to participants' vehicles.

We also need volunteers to be door greeters. We can always use bilingual volunteers. No experience is necessary. Just a desire to be part of the SHARE community.

Volunteers are also encouraged and invited to order food through the food cooperative.
