After School Program Volunteers

Volunteer Opportunity Details: Last updated on April 27, 2009 C.R.O.S. Ministries in partnership with Calvary United Methodist Church will be offering an after school program for elementary age children who are from families of low-income. The after school program begins this fall, August 18 and will serve 10-15 children. The program will operate Monday through Friday 2:30 to 5:30 PM. This is a volunteer run program. The after school program will offer children, who would otherwise be home alone, an opportunity to receive one-on-one tutoring while also participating in crafts, outdoor games, computer activities, and much more. The children will receive a nutritious snack and have a safe place to be during the out of school time. Volunteer hours are flexible. Volunteers must be at least 17 years old and be in the 11th grade. The volunteer should have some experience working with children; be able to work in a group setting; and have a passion and compassion for underprivileged children. The volunteer will also have to attend a 2 hour orientation. This opportunity is sponsored by: Christians Reaching Out to Society, Inc. (C.R.O.S. This is our main office, and not a feeding program location. This is not the gleaning site location. Most gleaning takes place in the Glades area, on occasion in Lake Worth or Boynton Beach area.
