Volunteer Opportunity Details:
| Last updated on November 4, 2009 |
We are in great need of volunteers for 2 or 3 hours a week between 11 am and 4 pm or 6 to 8 Monday or Friday evenings, to help low-income women with job preparation. We have an experienced job development person who is overburdened with clients and needs others to help. Because of the high unemployment rate many women are desperate and need help in finding employment. Responsibilities include review of applications, assistance with resumes and the interview process, and directing applicants to appropriate jobs, using the computer, classified ads, etc. Our senior job development person will be happy to train new volunteers, as needed. Please help our sisters in need!
We would like persons who are computer literate and experienced in working with people; caring, committed persons with good listening skills. Experience in job preparation is not necessary; training will be provided.
