Conduct in-person and/or telephone interviews regarding household food security. Using an 18-question survey designed and tested by the USDA, interviewers will ask questions about the household's ability or inability to access enough food for an active, healthy life. A mandatory training will take place on February 21, 2004 from 9:00 am - 3:00 pm at Palm Beach Atlantic University. Volunteers should have an interest in hunger issues and food resource programs, clearly communicate with interviewees in their primary language, administer the survey verbatim from the script provided, keep survey responses true to the responses from the interviewees and keep survey responses confidential. Volunteers are needed who speak Spanish, Creole and other languages. To volunteer and reserve your space at the training, please contact Tracey Padian, Project Manager, Food & Security Survey at 375-6626.
